Operation Write Home VCMP

It's Operation Write Home's Virtual Card Making Party  http://operationwritehome.org/vcmp-master-list/ for the weekend!  I want to do all of them but I know time is limited, so I will post as I finish some of the specific challenges.  Here's my card for  Challenge #9   http://craftytafty2.blogspot.com/
which said to make a masculine card using a vintage image.  I didn't have a vintage image so I used
brown ink on creme paper to give a "vintage feel"...
I said they'd be out of order and this is the first one I finished, so here it is:

Challenge #9

I am working my way back through the other challenges, so stay tuned!

Well that didn't take me too long...here's my take on Challenge #10 which was just posted about 1/2 an hour ago.

Challenge #10
The challenge was to use at least 3 different textures in the design of your card.  Well, thanks to my trusty Cuttlebug, I have some wonderful texture plates to use.  The background paper is hard to see but it was already pre-textured in a diamond pattern when I bought it.  The other papers went through the cuttlebug and then I used enamel buttons on the corners and popped the image with 3M foam tape. And that's Challenge #10, let's see what the next one is!O

It's almost June - that means it's almost Graduation time and since I've been getting a few invitations and announcements in the mail, I thought I better get some cards ready.  Here's what I came up with - trying to use some of the school colors.

May ODBD Challenge -

This is the same card I used for my midweek challenge last wekk but I love how the embossing on it turned out and I think it fits the requirements for this month's ODBD challenge quite nicely as well.  http://operationwritehome.org/may-odbd-challenge/

I simply used a folder I picked up in VA one time when I was visiting my son & DIL (I think it's a Darice folder), and ran it through my cuttlebug.  I love my Cuttlebug!  I have noticed that by just adding an embossed paper vs. flat, can change the whole look of a card.

It's time for Operation Write Home's Midweek Throwdown (http://operationwritehome.org/blog/)  - this week's challenge is Masculine Thinking of You.  I have a box almost ready to go for them (they said they need more Miss You cards so I'm making a bunch more to add to the box before I send it).  I pulled out a couple of the Thinking of You cards I had in there that fit this challenge quite nicely.   My sentiments are all stickers that I used on cardstock.  And of course the embossed backgrounds were done on my cuttlebug.  Thanks for looking and have a great day! :)

Operation Write Home Sketch Challenge #221 - (http://operationwritehome.org/blog/)

Here's my Clean and Simple take on it.  Not one of my better cards, made while I had the ham in the oven for Easter and waiting for the family to arrive. . . but I thought I'd share anyways!  I'm going to see if I can get some time this week to jazz this up a bit and make it more friendly, but it'll have to do for now!

Operation Write Home Sketch Post Challenge #220 (http://operationwritehome.org/blog/)
gave us NO measurements!  Only a few pictures and some ideas to follow.  Stumped at first but then I realized I had to think out of my A Personality box and it all wasn't going to be lined up neat and tidy! I dug out some patterned paper with some women's high heels pictures that I hadn't used yet that had a coordinating check with it.  I think it turned out bright and cheery (especially when we have MORE SNOW on the ground this morning here in Michigan...in mid-April...really!!!).

Then for the midweek Throwdown last week, our challenge was masculine cards.  Here's  a couple that I have waiting to send in with my next box -

Today's challenge from Operation Write Home (http://operationwritehome.org/blog/) was to make a card with Yellow and Purple.  I made this simple card the other day with scraps I had sitting on my desk.  I thought it looked really Springy!  Maybe once all this snow melts, it will finally start to feel Springy around here!
